Fishing at Le Moulin de Ponto

The River Blavet offers some of the best coarse fishing in France. Very few boats use the Blavet and there is very easy riverside access.

In the area, there are over 28 fishing rivers and streams, practically unused and all available to anyone with a permit. These can be bought locally and are very inexpensive. They are valid for one day (10€), a fortnight (30€) or a year (68€).

A permit allows you to fish anywhere in the Morbihan. Potential catches in the Blavet include: bream, pike, perch, sander, roach, carp and dace. In the nearby River L'Evel there is trout and salmon. In the Tarn, Sarre or Brandfort - trout.

Bait is available locally at the nearby fishing shop where you can buy your permit if required.

Fishing from the beach does not require a permit.

There is also a good selection of bases along the coast where you can go sea-fishing for the day.

Fishing Lake at Moulin le Ponto

Use of the fishing lake is included in the rental price of all of our gites here at Moulin le Ponto.

The fishing lake is about the same size as a full size football pitch. It is fed with spring water coming via the mill feeder canal and over our impressive water fall.

Average depth is about 5 to 6 ft deep and it is stocked with tench, carp, roach, rudd, bream, perch and trout.

Carp to 25 lbs have recently been caught but as the lake has not been intensively fished we do not know if there are even larger specimens than this.
